give me sugar

When Mr. A, my patient, saw me approaching, he said, "Give me sugar." I thought he wanted sugar for his coffee or tea so suggested him that we go to the kitchen to get it. Then, a nursing aid listening to our conversation chuckled and said to me, "No, what he meant was that he wanted you to kiss him."

I know he likes to flatter me but never expected that! Does "give me sugar" really mean "kiss me?" I looked up online dictionaries but found no such definition. I am known for being gullible, so am I made fun of again?
