flower lady

Mrs. A, one of my patients, loves flowers more than anything. She always wears floral blouse in soft colors, putting flowery smile on her face. That is why I secretly call her flower lady.

I love to work with her, she is a pleasant, warm hearted, sweet lady. Alzheimer's is taking her memory away, and she just can't acquire new information even with hundreds of repetitions or visual cues such as calendar, notebook, or signboard. It's not her fault, though. It is Alzheimer's thing, which is beyond her control.

She recognizes my face, but can't remember my name. One day she says, "Your name is Daffodil?" It doesn't mean I look like daffodil. But she thinks my name starts with "d" for some reason.

Her favorite flower is roses. And, she is as beautiful and elegant as roses!
